Almost Finish

Squeezing in one last post for the month, to share an almost finish.

My long due Meadow Friends boy quilt.

I finally had it basted ....

Then pondered on how to quilt it.

And pondered some more.

Then decided to stick with very (very!) simple straight line quilting....

Then couldn't decide between 2 types of fabric for the binding... so finally decided on both!

My sewing mojo's been severely wanting lately. But with any luck I'll have a finish to share very, very soon.

In the meantime, hope everyone has a happy and relaxing Sunday...

Bizzy Kid Reveal

A photo as promised!

This is the only one that got sent over - big thanks to Nephew's dad!

I actually diverged from the pattern a bit, and mixed up some of the fabric selection, and as you can see I added a 2 inch border because, well, just because.

All in all I really like this pattern, and I'm sure I'll be attempting another one in the future.

Happy Monday everyone - work hard now :-)

Nephew's Bizzy Kid - and Little Projects

Following from my last post I finally managed to finish Nephew's Bizzy Kid in time for his birthday. But only just barely. I was in panic mode the last couple of days and put in the final stitch in the binding just hours before heading over to the birthday party - it was that close!

Anyway, the party went fabulously, and Nephew awed us all by dancing to Gangnam Style complete with all the moves - we were all wondering later how on earth he knew them all, let alone learn them all! And as usual in all the excitement I forgot to take a photo of the quilt. So, sorry peeps, but no photo this time. I'm harrassing Big Brother (that's Nephew's dad) daily for some photos, so as soon I get some (or even one) I'll post them for you to see.

You know I don't like to post without pictures, so I'll show you something else I've been doing since then.

After all that panic sewing, I got the urge for a nice, quick project. Like this drawstring pouch.

It was so quick and easy, I found myself making another. Then another. And before I knew it, there were multiple little projects smiling back at me.

How did that happen?

I'm not complaining though, ehehee.

Hope everyone's having a fabulous weekend!

Progress

So after my trip I managed to get all my obligatory sewing done.

I finished up Mum's fitted sheets...

(I don't know why I'm showing you such a boring photo...)

Then finished up the coaster order...

Honestly, I was glad to get them done. Now I know why I don't take many orders - I keep feeling under pressure to get them done on time, just right and up to specs etc... :-(  does any one else feel like this?

After that I got to Nephew's Bizzy Kid...

... And confirmed that I'm completely useless at following patterns, because when I thought I got all the blocks done, I discovered that I was a few short... *sigh*

Well, at least there was some progress, and that has to be a good thing, yay!

Hope everyone's having a great week!

My Bad ... & A Trip!

I've been away from here so long I'm almost embarrassed to log back in... my bad :-(

Funny thing is, now that I'm here I'm not sure where to start. So I guess I'll start from the beginning. A few weeks ago Yummy Hubby and I went on a little trip.  We had a milestone anniversary and went on a little trip down memory lane to Bali. I still can't believe it was TEN years ago when we were there on our honeymoon. Also I really needed a break from the hustle and bustle (read 'WORK') so it was perfect timing, ehehee.

We had such fun mingling with the locals...

(I have a thing for chickens, heee!)

Wondered at the unique architecture...

Partook in the Bali landscape ...

Rice paddy!
 More mingling with the locals...

And generally just enjoyed everything Balinese ...

We stayed at this really cute hotel, and every day they had our towels presented in origami animals! Can you guess what they are?

Lol!

I dunno if Yummy Hubby will read this, but on a chance that he does: Hey You! I'm already looking forward to the next ten, Muah!

To everyone else, have a great week ahead. I'l be back very soon.
